People often ask, "Why does a homeless person have a pet, when they cannot even feed themselves?" I say, "Why not?"  While most have small dogs, to a homeless person their pets are their companions...their only family!  Their pets give them unconditional love and comfort, in a world that  often shuns them.  They also provide protection, or serve as a warning system for potential danger.

I know how much I love my dog, and I would want her with me if I found myself in a homeless situation, and I know she would want to be right by my side! These pets do not see themselves as being homeless, but only with someone they love and who loves them.

Since the start of this ministry, we have seen remarkable acts of humanity.  As we passed out meals and bags of dog food, we have witnessed just how important these pets are, when they choose to see to their pet's needs before eating themselves.  We also have fed a few cats!

We want to make sure the homeless we come in contact with know we knowledge and understand their plight, and that what is important to them is also important to us!
