THE PURPOSE

Jehovah Jireh – R.L. Rogers Outreach Ministries (dba Thru Random Acts) is committed to assisting and supporting homeless individuals and families by providing food, clothing, hygiene products, prayer and spiritual needs, and supportive services. We also seek to provide referrals to temporary and permanent shelter by connecting with community services and programs. Our goal is to accomplish this with the help of the surrounding communities and government assistance.

As a nonprofit organization our focus is on helping those that are less fortunate than ourselves. With the help of our tireless staff we prepare home cooked meals and distribute them throughout the City of Oakland, CA.

We are passionate about what we do, and if you are too, let us know!

There are many ways to help that will suit you, and we are excited to have you join our efforts!

Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, we thank you! We could not accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.

WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE RESUMED OUR OUTREACH EFFORTS AS OF NOVEMBER 22ND, 2020. FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS, DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OUR OUTREACH EFFORTS ARE LIMITED TO SERVING SELECTED OAKLAND HOUSING COMMUNITIES FOR THE HOMELESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Thru Random Acts - Always Expecting the Best!

Greetings my Thru Random Acts Family,

It has been about two years since my last message to you. I closed that message with these words, “I thank God for allowing me to be part of this group of caring women and men who serve in this great ministry. Be encouraged as you face another year of service, and always, “expect the best.” As I sit here in 2024 thinking of you, my message remains the same. “Be encouraged.”

In these days of much unrest and peril, encouragement comes at a high price. It is not easy to live a life of encouragement when the world presents so many discouraging circumstances. Groceries are unbelievably high, gas is off the Richter Scale, housing is unaffordable, the cost of childcare is massive, marriages are broken, and education is out of the reach of most American families. So, when I say “be encouraged” it sounds like an old cliché, with no relevance to today’s real world. But being encouraged and looking towards a brighter future is real and within the reach of all of God’s children.

Some of you probably don’t remember the old song of my day, “The Lord is Blessing Me Right Now.” It says, “He woke me up this morning and started me on my way, the Lord is blessing me right now!” Keeping this at the forefront of our minds is the first step in realizing that we all have a brighter future. The Lord supplies us with blessings each day. It is up to us to make the best of those blessings and use every moment to reach our goals. If you work each day to take advantage of your blessings, you will soon see that your future grows brighter.

Take some time out of every day to thank the Lord for His blessings and you will face each day with an encouraged mind and heart.

Be Encouraged and always expect the best!
